Music Monday

Yesterday, I was playing around on iTunes, which I do often by the way, and found Whatever: Hits of the '90s. Me being me, I just had to check out the list of songs. Oh yeah, I'm nosy like that. And boy oh boy, did I hit the music jackpot. Sir-Mix-A-Lot, House of Pain, TLC, Duncan Sheik, Diamond Rio, and John Michael Montgomery all together in one place? It was like a music orgasm. Did I mention the masterminds behind the brilliant (and quite possibly best) compilation ever threw in some Naughty by Nature, Coolio, Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, and Jane's Addiction. Oh yeah, they did. And man, I love them for it.

If you can't tell (which you probably can seeing that I'm as transparent as a sheet of glass when it comes to my feelings), I have a thing - okay, an obsession - for '90s music. Maybe it's because I was a product of the '90s or maybe not. I don't know. But either way, I can't help but love the tunes that filled the airwaves back then.

So since it is Music Monday, that means you and I are taking a trip down music memory lane with a few of my favorite hits from Whatever: His of the 90s.

Who could forget Hanson, their long hair, boyish faces, and hippy-happy-highly addictive songs? Certainly not me.

Country line dancing to Neal McCoy's Wink. Need I say more?

Not a clue why I love this song so much. I just do.

The pants alone make U Can't Touch This by MC Hammer a classic.

Dangerous Minds and Gangsta's Paradise go hand-in-hand. Since the movie was so fantastic, the song was, too.

As with everything, there were a few songs that I personally would have loved to see on Whatever: Hits of the '90s. Songs like these...

Tubthumping by Chumbawumba

Runaway Train by Soul Asylum

Tootsee Roll by 69 Boyz

And the ever-controversial Waterfalls by TLC

The list goes on...
and on...
and on...

But alas, the blog cannot. I would hate for the server to go BOOM! So until next time, sing it loud and sing it proud.

XOXOXO,
Mia
