Happy Sunday! I'm trying something new...yep, that means I'm a virgin. Scary thought, huh? Today, I'm joining with over 150 authors and posting six sentences from what I've been working on over the past week.

“Watch where you’re going,” a snotty voice snapped at Ella from behind.

Big baboon ass! Ella didn’t have to turn to see who had spoken. She knew that voice, and she hated itLeila. The gossip's right. The bitch is back, damn it.

Mia's On The Road Again...

"Jump in, let's go. Lay back, enjoy the show. Everybody gets high. Everybody gets low. These are the days when anything goes." - Sheryl Crow, Every Day Is A Winding Road

Good morning everyone! I'm over at 69 Shades of Smut today. And guess what I'm doing. I'm going on a road trip to Luscious, Kansas. Mmhmm...that's exactly the way I'm rolling. If you're in the mood for some naughty good times and Luscious men, come along with me. I'd love to have each and everyone of you. I've got plenty of room...my car is magical like that! Think Hermione Granger's beaded handbag, only in the form of a large, powerful, bright yellow Lamborghini named Casanova. :)

Hope you have a happy Friday! XOXOXO!

"Three Rings and a Rose" is Coming Soon!

The fourth book in my Sweet Serenity series, Three Rings and a Rose, is coming soon! Okay, it's coming in October of 2012. But hey, it's still coming. Woohoo!

For those of you who don't know, this is Ella Dawson's story. She is a close friend of Jaycee Blakemore, Shannon Dalton, and Katie-Anne Jacobs. So of course, they will be in the thick of things as always! I had such fun writing this wild child and the two men who tame her. Um..let me rephrase that...the two men who tame her as much as she can be tamed. Hehehe. Just wait, you'll see what I mean. Anyway, I cannot wait for you all to get to know Ella, Micah Blaylock, and Caedon Asher. They stole my heart, and I hope they'll steal yours.

Right now, I don't have many details about dates or anything like that, but I will keep everyone posted as I learn more. XOXOXO!

Happy Mia Creation Day!

Hello everyone! Today is a special day for me. It's the one year anniversary of my birth...Mia Ashlinn's, that is. This time last year, I made the decision that would forever change my life. I chose to follow my dreams and pursue writing. Now here I am...three published, one (*fingers crossed*) soon-to-be published, and one 'work in progress' books later.

Ironically this past weekend, I went to a convention with my fellow Siren authors. For me this was the moment that I said, "Holy guacamole! I'm an author." Funny, huh? My first book came out in February, but it never truly clicked what I do on a daily basis.

Until I sat in a room filled with people that I have read many times over, people that I respect, it never really made sense. But after a surreal moment, I realized that I was now a part of this magnificent publishing house and talented group of authors. Why yes, I might have squealed inside...more than once. Then again, who am I kidding? My dorkdom isn't a shock to anyone. I started squealing internally the moment I laid eyes on a couple of my favorite authors! Somehow, I managed to keep my cool though. I was all good and not a rock-star, author groupie...on the outside. :)

Even more ironically, I finished my fourth book today. Yes, fourth! Can you believe it? I know I can't. As I hit send on the email to submit the tentatively titled, Three Rings and a Rose (Sweet Serenity #4), I was overcome with emotion. Yep, I'm cheesy like that.

A year ago, I started on an amazing journey...and a year later, I'm still on it. I just hope that I keep travelling down this long, winding road for many days, weeks, months, and years to come. And I hope that you'll follow along beside me.

In honor of Mia's Creation Day, I'm posting an unedited snippet from Ella Dawson's story, Three Rings and a Rose. I hope you enjoy! XOXOXO!

"Three Rings and a Rose"

Waving, Ella Dawson called out, “Thanks for coming,” as her departing friends disappeared out the front door to her adult toy shop, The G Spot, and into the Serenity summer night. When the bell jingled, indicating the door had completely closed behind them, she spun around but stopped in her tracks.
The giant sign hanging over the entrance to the back room where they were holding the party taunted her, holding her attention captive, and she found her feet glued to the tile floor. Double your pleasure, double your fun...
Standing stock-still, Ella stared at the sign as thought it would come to life and bite her at any moment. She plastered a smile on her face, pretending to find amusement in the tongue-in-cheek saying, but it wasn't from the heart. No, nothing was from the heart anymore because she was fucking miserable.
Despite the group of girls celebrating Katie-Anne Jacobs, Jaycee Blakemore, and their impending baby arrivals just inside the doorway, Ella couldn't dredge up an ounce of excitement. All she could think about was the date. June 3rd.
She'd hoped that throwing the double baby shower with her three sisters, Hadley, Molly-Grace, and Reagan, would help her forget what day it was. She’d thought it might fix whatever it was going on inside her. But she was pretty fucking wrong.
Today was no better than any other day. Hell, because of the date, it was oh-so-much worse which was saying something. In retrospect, the past few four months had been torture. How melodramatic of me to put it that way. They hadn't been torture in the usual sense. She didn't have someone hurting her physically. And no, there was no one abusing her emotionally. This was all on her. Well, if she wanted to get technical, it was on her best friend, Micah, and her ex-lover, Caedon, too.
It was on Micah because the bastard was gay. A girl in love with a gay man was doomed from the very first flip-flop of her heart. Why couldn’t he be bisexual? Shit, that would be fucking hot.
And it was on Caedon because...well, he was Caedon. The jackass had left her when she needed him most. Okay, that isn’t exactly fair. I practically pushed him out of my life, but it was his fault for driving me to it.
Now here Ella was two years later, standing in the unorthodox hometown she loved, with a roomful of her favorite women mere feet from her. And what was she doing? She was moping around like a heartsick puppy. No, I refuse to do this. I am going to go into that room with my friends and my sisters, and I am going to have a good time. Goddamn it.
Marching across her shop with purposeful strides, Ella barely made out the loud click-clack of her hooker heels on the tile floor. She was too focused. She had things to do and fun to have—whether or not she damn well liked it.
Shoving open the door, Ella barreled into the room packed with six fabulous women. As soon as she spotted them all sitting around the table and inspecting various sexy toys, some of her melancholy emotions faded away. Yeah, this is just what I need to do.

I'm Guest Blogging....at Wild & Wicked Cowboys!

As Reese Witherspoon says in one of my favorite movies, Sweet Home Alabama, "Look at you. You have a baby...in a bar." Well, I don't have a baby in a bar. But I am hanging out in a bar with some good friends at Wild & Wicked. If you want to stop by, we're drooling over a couple of sinfully hot cowboys and playing naughty games. Come on...join us. You know you want to. Besides, we won't corrupt you...too much.

XOXOXO,

"Toto, I Don't Think We're In Kansas Anymore..."

...Or at least, we're not in Dorothy's Kansas.

Now Mia's Kansas, that's where we are.

So today, I have a big announcement. Okay, I think it's huge. But hey, I write erotic romance novels...I have a pre-occupation with size. (gasps) Yeah, I went there. And I would do it again. Wow, I just proved my point perfectly. Didn't I? Seriously, I start out with talking about the size of an announcement and spiral out of control with naughty innuendos about the size of...well, you know what. (wink wink)

Anyway...

If you have read my Sweet Serenity books, you will know that I often refer to a couple of shall we say unconventional towns in Kansas. Well, I have a little surprise for you, but you'll have to come a little closer for me to tell you. I have to be careful you know. I wouldn't want too many people to overhear us sharing my salacious secret. So come on. Come closer. Closer. Closer. Ouch! Not that close.

Shew, talk about up close and personal. Are you okay? No bruises, cuts, or broken bones? Good. I would hate to cause you pain (unless you wanted me to, of course) before I divulge my super-secret, highly-classified, password-protected secret. FYIthe password is 69. I know that has to come as a complete and total shock.

Okay, here it isWait! We have to get the drum roll going first....

(Thanks Animal. That's much better, my friend.)

I have two new, very-dear-to-my-heart series in the works. Before anyone asks: Yes, they are both menage towns. Goodness knows that I have a fetish for those. Only these each have a twist.

If you would like to know more, swing by my other blog site www.69shadesofsmut.com today. I'm going on a Kinky road trip, and I would love to have you along for the ride. Later this month, I'll be taking a Luscious road trip to spend a little time with the boys.

As always, the more, the merrier. So let's go for a spin. You never know what you might find with me in the driver seat. XOXOXO!

It's Release Day for "It Takes Three to Fly!"

Hi everyone! I am so excited that today is finally the release day for It Takes Three to Fly. This is the third installment of my Sweet Serenity series. Let me tell you, this book was a rough one to write. Please don't get me wrong. I loved the story, and I loved the characters. But it is always heartbreaking to witness the pain of someone you care so deeply about.

Before you ask...Yes I admit it freely. No need to torture it out of meunless you really want to. Then I guess I will take one for the team. Wow. That sounded seriously wrong. Then again, I guess it is to be expected of me to say something that could be so easily misconstrued in the dirtiest way possible. I mean, seriously. I do write those naughty books filled with rapturous romance and magical menages. Oh yeah, there might be lots of hot, sexy men that make me sweat as I type...Shew, is it getting hot in here or is it just me? Goodness, I need to strip down or turn on the air conditioner. Decisions, decisions....

The air conditioner it is! I'm not a get naked while blogging kind of girl. Although, I haven't ever tried it. Maybe I should...Hehehehe. I am just teasing you all! :)

Anyway, I need to stop these thought in their tracks. My mind is getting distracted, and this is not the time or place. Right? Right. So we shall move onto my confession. Are you ready for it? Good, because I am.

Here it is: I, Mia Ashlinn, consider the three characters in this book to be close, personal friends. (gasps) Wait, wait, wait! Who am I kidding? All of the characters I write about are my dear friends. (gasps again) If that makes me a freak, so be it. Well, if you want to get technical, that is probably not the reason I'm a freak...But, as usual, I digress.

While writing this story, I spent a lot of time in my car, soul searching and occasionally arguing with the characters in my head about this story line or that one. So predictably, I had to have music to listen to as I drove down country roads and up busy interstates. I know that is so shocking. Me? In a car? Listening to music? Never! Unless you count this morning...and last night....and the day before that...oh, and the one prior to that. Hmm...I won't get hung up on technicalities—tiny as they may be.

Okay. Fine. You caught me. I'm being a bit sarcastic. Not that I do that often. I say this with a big smile and a bawdy wink because sarcasm is freaking fun, baby! And I love to include fun in my every day life. It keeps me sane. Or as sane as I get...

Yep, I think it's time to move along. No need to discuss my sanity or lack thereof. I wouldn't want the people pointing at the crazy, freaky chick with the dirty mind. I get that often enough. (wink wink)

So, let's get down to business. My long-winded blog has led me to one thing and one thing aloneKatie-Anne's playlist. The music that I played incessantly while writing It Takes Three to Fly was...interesting.  I guess that is the best word to describe my music choices.

Several of the songs were unexpected ones. Actually, one or two of them were by musicians that I had never even heard of. Thanks to my musical muse and a little searching, I found my way to the songs that made this list:

Well, I guess it is time to wrap this release day blog up. I know you have lots to do...it is the start of what is promising to be a great weekend after all. And I have to get back to writing my next book! Yay!

Since I'm on a music kick, and I am working on a new book, I thought I would tease you with one of the songs for my favorite scene from my WIP's Playlist:

I hope you enjoyed this song as well as all the others. Have a lovely weekend! XOXOXO!

Love and cherries,
-Mia

p.s. I have a huge announcement next week...I will post it here so keep your eyes peeled. :)
