A Special Tease Just For You...

At the request of a very lovely reader, I am posting a tease from my work-in-progress, His Haven (Love in Luscious, Kansas 3). I hope you enjoy this glimpse into Tate Dawson and Haven Kelley's story.

****

“No more dirty Seuss for you, Samuel!” Those were the only words Tate managed to get out before Evan Chambers shoved him into the back of his police cruiser and slammed the door shut—in his damned face.

“Cockmonkey,” Tate growled through the window, not backing down. He was furious. No, he was outraged and furious. What was wrong with people? First, Sam was setting him up to take the fall for something he didn’t do. Then there was Evan, who was being a hard ass and arresting him on a trumped up charge without listening to his side of the story. How was Tate supposed to get Evan to understand that he hadn’t stolen a fucking thing?

Outside, Sam exchanged words with Evan, who nodded and waved his hand toward the car. Sam grinned and grabbed the handle before opening the door. “Tate, Tate, Tate.” He clucked. “You shouldn’t have stolen Lolita from Second Chance Love. You know Winnie would have given you a good deal.” His face turned pitying. “Are you low on the dough? I can loan you some money.”

Tate lunged at Sam, his handcuffs keeping him at a distinct disadvantage. “I’m going to kill you,” he snarled.

Sam chuckled as he jumped back a step. “You’ll have to get out of jail first, my friend.”

Tate closed his eyes. He sucked in several sustaining breaths before lifting his eyelids again. “Once I explain everything to Evan, you’ll be lucky if he doesn’t arrest you.”

Sam leaned in, moving real close to Tate, and then murmured, “I doubt it, Tate. He’s arresting you for stealing a latex blow up doll from a midwife at a consignment shop. Do you think he’s that stupid?”

Apparently overhearing, Evan popped up over Sam’s shoulder. “Don’t answer that.”

Tate didn’t need to answer because this was all bullshit. He wasn’t being arrested. He was being kidnapped. He didn’t know why they were doing it. All he knew was that they were.

Stubbornly, Tate set his jaw. He sat back, refusing to respond, which made Sam cackle. “I know you don’t see it, man. But I’m helping you.” His expression sobered slightly. “Like you did with me.”

Tate immediately knew what Sam was referring to. Back when Sam was conflicted about his love for Brett and Ethan, Tate had stepped in. He’d opened up and shared his and Will’s story with Sam. In the end, their talk nudged Sam in the right direction. Now, Sam was married to both Brett and Ethan, and the three of them were heavily involved with Athena Xanthopoulos. Sam constantly told Tate that he ‘blamed’ him for everything. Of course, Sam said it with a wink, nudge, and a crooked smile.

“Fuck.” It all clicked into place. This wasn’t about him. It was about him and Haven, which meant… “Oh God,” Tate groaned. “You’re going to arrest Haven, too.” That got Tate moving. He squirmed and jerked. He even bucked a little. But it was to no avail. He was royally stuck. “You can’t, Evan.”

Evan, the smart ass, winked. “I’m not.”

“Cooper is,” Tate finished.

Have a wonderful weekend, y'all. XOXOXO!

Steamy Saturday

"What did I tell you, love?"

Annie's breath hitched as she fought to remember what he'd said earlier - before he'd laid his big, beautiful hands on her. She came up empty.

Shane nipped her cheek, obviously reminding her he'd asked a question.

Still, Annie didn't speak. She couldn't, not with his humid breath against her cheek.

"Annie?"  she heard him repeat.

Annie's lips parted as though ready to spill every secret she'd ever known. But a word never fell from her lips because Shane lifted his huge, hard body up and off her. In a smooth move, he flipped her over. Air whooshed from her lungs. Shane didn't stop to let her recover before covering her body once again. A second later, his mouth was on hers, his tongue thrusting between her lips and delving into her mouth. Hot and wet, his tongue was sliding along hers. Skilled and thorough, his hands were roaming her body.

Annie moaned. She writhed.

Shane didn't slow.

Annie arched up, her back bowing off the bed. Her nipples rasped against Shane's sweaty skin, the pain pleasure, the discomfort electric, and she gasped.

Unexpectedly, Shane pulled away from her. His green eyes were wide and wild as he said, "I told you to behave."

He had. Oops. Annie smiled. But her smile faded as Shane went for the fly of his jeans.

Brad bent Emma over the kitchen table.

Emma shivered, hating the feel of cold, hard wood against her sensitive nipples. "What're you doing?" she asked in the primmest voice a woman in her precarious position could.

"I'm hungry."

Oh, good. That answered it. He was hungry so he was going to eat her on the kitchen table. Made perfect sense.

"For you," he added as he leaned forward and trailed kisses down her back.

Chills erupted along Emma's skin. She couldn't stop them. She didn't want to. She sighed.

"I need to taste you," Brad said as his hands slipped beneath the waistline of her too-loose cut-offs then pushed them off her hips. "To love you and fuck you."

Emma hummed a "Yes."

A dark chuckle came from Brad a split second before he dropped to his knees behind her. "I'm beginning to think you're hungry too."

"Famished," she breathed out.

Brad guided her jean shorts to the ground. "Step out," he ordered.

She did. Happily.

Brad's hands went to her inner thighs. He exerted enough force that she had to spread her legs. "Good," he crooned, situating her the way he wanted. When he was done, he grabbed each of her ass cheeks and spread her open. She couldn't see his eyes, but she felt them on her asshole as he murmured, "So damn pretty."

Shock stilled her. Her asshole was pretty? She didn't think an ass could be pretty. But, apparently, he thought it was. And who was she to complain? She'd never had a man who wanted her, all of her, now and forever, even at the breakfast table.

Jasmine felt Jake dig his fingers into the flesh of her ass. She heard him say, "That's a good girl." And she saw his lips making their way toward her mouth. But she wasn't a good girl and she would be damned if she'd make it easy.

Grinning, Jasmine threw her head back, showing Jake the expanse of her neck.

Jake grumbled. Though, that didn't stop him from laying a luscious kiss at the base of her neck. "You wanna play like that, sugar?"

Yes. Yes, she did. Jasmine nodded.

Jake's hands abandoned her ass.

This time, Jasmine was the one left grumbling.

Jake smirked, and she knew she was in big trouble. "I can play, too." His surprisingly tender hand found its way to the base of her neck then glided upward and into her hair. Like a light switch, his gentle touch vanished, his caress turning into a stronghold, when he growled, "But be prepared. I always win."

Jasmine shuddered. That was exactly what she was hoping for.

Foodie Friday

Welcome Back to Foodie Friday! This past week has been a good one for me. First of all, I got to go shopping and, for the first time in years, I didn't leave the mall depressed. No, I was elated when I walked out those big doors because I'd just found out that I'd dropped two full pant sizes! It was the most unbelievable feeling. I was practically hopping, skipping, and jumping while singing empowerment songs. Okay, maybe, that is stretching it. But you get the idea...I was happy.

Also, I finally got into the swing of my exercise program this week. After walking on my treadmill frequently in the last few weeks, I started to find myself enjoying it. Go figure. Now, my treadmill time is my Zen time. And no one seems to bother me. No phone. No Internet. No television. No screaming 'Mom!' or 'Babe!' I just put on my headphones and walk to the beat of my Workout Playlist. (Eventually, I hope to run. But alas, that's another blog...)

So, that pretty much sums up my week. Are y'all ready for the food? Because I got some yummy porn for you:

A big Greek burger w/ lettuce, tomato, & a juicy slab of bacon on Ezekiel Bread.
The sides include a zesty tzatziki sauce and spicy oven-fried zucchini.
Amazingly, neither the zucchini or bread contain any flour!
(see recipes below)

One of my personal favorites - Chicken Piccata!
Yum.
Only this is Chicken Piccata with a twist.
I used Coconut flour and Egg Whites for breading rather than AP Flour.
And since I was a good girl with my breading, I treated myself with peas.
Man, do I love those peas.
Almost as much as that Chicken Piccata.
Nom. Nom. Nom.
(see recipes below)

An Inside Out Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato, and Avocado Sandwich.
I used flour-less Ezekiel bread rather than a traditional loaf to save on carbs.
Also, I opted to make a mayo with avocado instead of eating it in large slices.
For the side, I went with the always yummy, never fail, pan-fried zucchini.
(see recipes below)

Leftovers from the BLTA! Lunch never looked (and tasted so good).

Bean-Free Chili topped  w/ green onion, cheese , and a dollop of Daisy Sour Cream.
(see recipes below)

RECIPES

Greek Burger

Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 cup crumbled Feta cheese
Oregano, eyeball it
Salt, to taste
Pepper, to taste

Directions

Heat an indoor grill.

While you wait for the grill to heat, place the ground beef and Feta in a large bowl. (Do not mix yet.)

Dust the top of the meat and Feta with Oregano, Salt, and Pepper. I can’t give exact measurements because I eyeball it. (Sorry about that)

Using your hands, mix the beef, Feta, oregano, salt, and pepper until well incorporated. Do not over mix! (Pretty, pretty please…)

Once everything is all mixed up, score the meat into four sections then separate it and form it into patties.

Finally, cook the hamburger on the grill until the meat reaches desired temperature.
*I altered Giada's recipe slightly*

Ingredients:

Skinless and boneless chicken breasts

Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper

1/4 cup coconut flour, for dredging

1 egg white, for binding

6 tablespoons unsalted butter

5 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil

1/3 cup fresh lemon juice

1/2 cup chicken stock

1/4 cup brined capers, rinsed

1/3 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Directions:

Season chicken with salt and pepper.

In a small bowl, whisk the egg white until it is frothy. Then dredge the chicken first in the egg white then in the flour, shaking off all excess.

In a large skillet over medium high heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter with 3 tablespoons olive oil. When butter and oil start to sizzle, add 2 pieces of chicken and cook for 3 minutes. When chicken is browned, flip and cook other side for 3 minutes. Remove and transfer to plate. Melt 2 more tablespoons butter and add another 2 tablespoons olive oil. When butter and oil start to sizzle, add the other 2 pieces of chicken and brown both sides in same manner. Remove pan from heat and add chicken to the plate.

Into the pan add the lemon juice, stock and capers. Return to stove and bring to boil, scraping up brown bits from the pan for extra flavor. Check for seasoning. Return all the chicken to the pan and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove chicken to platter. Add remaining 2 tablespoons butter to sauce and whisk vigorously. Pour sauce over chicken and garnish with parsley.

BLT's Avocado Mayo

Ingredients

1 Avocado, diced
1 cup of Mayo
1 dash of Lemon Juice
Dried tarragon, to taste
Salt, to taste
Pepper, to taste

Directions

In a bowl, mix together the avocado, mayo, and lemon juice.

Once blended, add salt, pepper, and tarragon to the mayo/avocado/lemon juice mixture.

At this point, you will need to taste the mayo to determine how much of the salt, pepper, and/or tarragon you require. Personally, I love tarragon so I use more than is necessary. But that’s up to you.

Pan-Fried Zucchini

Ingredients

1 Large Zucchini, cut into thin slices.
A dash of lemon juice
1 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
Salt, to taste
Pepper, to taste

Directions

In a skillet, warm the olive oil.

Meanwhile, fan the zucchini slices out on a plate.

Liberally sprinkle one side of the zucchini with salt and pepper.

When the olive oil is warm, place the zucchini in the skillet.

Cook the zucchini until it is starting to turn a golden brown color then add a dash of lemon juice.

Continue to cook until the zucchini is nice and caramelized on the outside.

Bon appétit!

XOXOXO,
-Mia

"Music to my Ears" Monday

"Breathe Again" by Sara Bareilles is quickly becoming a song obsession for me. I, literally, listen to it a zillion times a day. Okay, not literally. But you get the idea. I play it and play it and play it throughout the course of the day. My poor family is probably tired of hearing about a woman someday breathing again. But hey, that's what they made earphones for. Right?

Now, keep in mind, part of my deep and abiding love for "Breath Again" stems from the fact that it is at the top of my current WIP's playlist. And part of it is because it is a freaking awesome song, and I love Sara's voice! Either way, though, I think it is one that everyone should hear at least once. So on this "Music to My Ears" Monday, I decided to share it with you. I hope you love this song and its beautiful, wonderful singer as much as I do.

Love and kisses,
-Mia

Sex Toy Sunday

Last weekend, all of my favorite toys broke. Yes, all of them and all on the same night. Needless to say, I was not a happy lady. But because of my - shall we say, 'sudden need for special friends,' I decided it was time for a shopping spree. Now, I have several 'adult' stores locally. But you know how it is. The selection is average, and the cost is ridiculous. So I thought I would go online and find some goodies. Well, I made a mistake, a huge one.

I searched Google...

...for the "Coolest Sex Toys."

As you can imagine, this search didn't bring up as many stores to shop in as I would have liked. No, it sent me to places like Women's Health Magazine and Cosmo. While those are fine and do contain valuable information, they were not what I was looking for.

So, I went back to the Google search page and perused some more websites. Of course, I found other things, more interesting things like Cool Material and Cracked. Me, being me, I just had to click on those links. Why, you ask? Because the titles of the links were 18 Hilarious Sex Products and 18 More of the World's Most Disturbing Sex Toys (respectively).

Yep, what I found at these sites was eye-opening and more-than-a-little amusing. We're talking musical condoms, pussy feet, and rubber duckies to love on. We're also talking disposable canned vaginas and humongous 'Cannon Dildos' with radiation symbols on the side. Oh, yes! Let's not forget the specialized blow up dolls like the "Area 51 Love Doll" and "Kochi the Anime Blow-Up Doll." And I would hate to leave out the Hooded Spanks Body Binder, the Auto Suck for those long, lonely road trips, the Hot Seat Inflatable Cushion Vibe in hot pink, and the Dildo Gas Mask for...yeah, not sure who would want this or where they'd use it, but I know someone, somewhere out there has one. Sheesh, humans aren't the only one's with sex toys. Dogs are even getting in on the action (literally) with the "Hot Doll." (I'm dead serious about the last one. If you don't believe me, check out The 25 Most Disturbing Sex Toys.) Keep in mind, these are just a few of my favorite examples.

If you are interested in learning more, you should swing by and check them out at the sites I have listed above or you could probably find some more on your own through Google or the search engine of your choice. Either way you go, I promise you won't be disappointed in what you find. But be prepared to laugh, cringe, and/or gasp. Some 'products' might even send your jaw to the floor in shock. Who know what your reaction will be. But I'm sure it will be highly entertaining for you.

So now, go forth and find a silly, scary, or seriously disturbing sex toy that tickles your fancy and post them below. I'm just dying to see what YOU can find. XOXOXO!

Share-Me Saturday

"Please," she whispers, her heart pounding.
Both men hesitate.
"I need you," she tries again.
Both men groan. Still, they don't move.
She's ready to give up. But before she turns away, they pounce.
And she sighs happily.

She sits between them, her body achy and desperate, her pussy wet and ready.
The diabolical men do nothing. They simply stare at her, their eyes worshipful.
She feels beautiful and powerful and sexy as she says, "What do you want?"
Her lips tip up into a sensual smile when they answer simultaneously, "You."

"I love your hands on me," she murmurs. "Both of yours."
In sync, they move their big, warm hands up her body.
She shivers, wanting more. No, needing it. Craving it. Then she sighs both their names, one after another.
The two men groan in response, and she knows without a doubt she's exactly where she belongs - between them, both of them, the two men she loves.

Just because I'm feeling sappy...

XOXOXO,
-Mia

Foodie Friday

Two weeks ago today, I made a massive change in my life. I started a low carb diet. Since I am going on this journey, I don't want to do it alone. I want to share the ups and downs with you. So in the coming weeks, months, and hopefully years, I will post pictures, recipes, links, and anything else pertaining to my new lifestyle here. I am calling it Foodie Friday. I hope that you will come back weekly and join me as I go through this new and wonderful phase of my life.

Much love and lots of kisses,
-Mia

FOOD PORN!

Spicy grilled chicken with a squeeze of lime on top of a whole wheat (and low carb, I might add) tortilla. The toppings include: Cilantro, Lettuce, Cheese, Black Olives, Salsa, Sour Cream, and Jalapenos. I did add a teaspoon of black beans. I'm a bad girl like that.

Low carb allows me to still have some naughty things like bacon. (Just an FYI. This was the first time I'd ever fried bacon on my own. I thought it turned out quite nicely.)

Sesame and Ginger Chicken with Stir-Fried Ginger Cabbage and Soy-Glazed Sesame Green Beans. (Do we see a pattern? I have a fetish for ginger. LOL. Not that I have tried to do anything with ginger - other than eat it.)

I cannot remember where I found the recipe for the cabbage. :(

This is a poached chicken, which tastes much better than it looks, with grilled zucchini and a cilantro and lime sauce. Talk about delicious. Yum.

Warmhearted Wednesday: Superbowl Commercial Edition

When I watched the Super Bowl this past Sunday, there was one thing that stood out to me. Was it the game, you ask. Um, no. Could it be the half-time show, you might be wondering. Sorry, Bruno. You did a good job but, yeah, you didn't wow me. No, the one memorable moment was a commercial. Go figure.

Now, I'm not one for commercials, not even the high-budget, mini-movie commercials played during the Super Bowl. But when I saw this commercial...

...I knew it wouldn't be one I would forget. Like ever.
(Come on. You know it warmed your heart.
And if you're like me, Budweiser might have brought a tear to your eye. )

While I don't drink Budweiser and I'm not likely to run out and purchase their beer, I have to say that they gained a new fan...of their commercials. So here's to Budweiser and a wonderful, warmhearted Wednesday!

Love and cherries,
-Mia
